Storm Cleanup Information

Beginning at 8:00 AM, June 20, 2010, City crews and subcontractors will resume clearing trees from City Right of Ways. Crews have been instructed to focus on clearing the roadways, driveways, and sidewalks throughout the City. It is not our intent to pick up all of the debris this day. Debris removal from trees growing on City owned parkways and streets will begin on Monday June 21, 2010 and continue throughout the week. Debris from trees growing on private property are the responsibility of the home or business owner to address. In some instances, crews will be unable to clear trees until the utility companies have restored electric and communication lines.

Motorists are urged to proceed with caution as some streets remain blocked with tree debris and power outages still exist in parts of the City causing traffic signals to be inoperable. If motorists approach a signalized intersection that is inoperable, it should be treated as a four way stop.

Citizens are urged to use extreme caution when traveling near Forestry crews.
