Advisory

NWS issues HEAT advisory for Simpson County for Saturday and Sunday. Be very careful outdoors and stay tuned to NWS.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN LOUISVILLE HAS ISSUED A HEAT
ADVISORY...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM CDT TO 5 PM CDT SATURDAY. A HEAT ADVISORY ALSO IS IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM CDT TO 5 PM CDT SUNDAY.

* TEMPERATURE: HIGH TEMPERATURES SATURDAY AND SUNDAY AFTERNOONS IN
THE LOWER AND MIDDLE 90S.

* HEAT INDICES: MAXIMUM VALUES 100 TO 105 SATURDAY AND SUNDAY
AFTERNOONS DUE TO THE COMBINATION OF HIGH TEMPERATURES AND
HUMIDITY.

* IMPACTS: PERSONS ENGAGING IN STRENUOUS OUTSIDE ACTIVITY COULD
EXPERIENCE HEAT-RELATED ILLNESSES IF PROPER PRECAUTIONS ARE NOT
TAKEN.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

DRINK PLENTY OF WATER...WEAR LIGHT WEIGHT AND LIGHT COLORED
CLOTHING...STAY IN AN AIR-CONDITIONED ROOM IF POSSIBLE...STAY OUT
OF THE SUN...AND CHECK ON RELATIVES NEIGHBORS AND PETS.
