Community Alert Wanted for Attempted Child Abduction/Luring 008th District (Chicago Lawn)

About This Crime
• On Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at 12:00 noon, on the 2700 block of W. 86th street, a male black offender attempted to lure a young female victim to his car. The offender told the victim he wanted to talk to her. The victim fled towards her home and the offender drove away.

About The Offender
• The offender is described as a male black in his early 20's, medium weight, height unknown, with a dark complexion, long dreadlocks, and a small mustache. No clothing description available.

What You Can Do
• Be aware of this situation and alert neighbors in the area about the crime.
• If possible, don't walk alone and stay in well lit areas.
• Call 911 to report any suspicious person(s), vehicle(s) or activity in your neighborhood.
• Call 911 and provide a detailed description of the offender(s) including the vehicle description and license plate information.
• Call the CAPS Implementation Office at 312-747-9987 for more information on how to avoid being a victim of crime.
• Develop safe locations for children to go to if they feel in trouble or in danger.
• Instruct children to report any suspicious activity to an adult at once.
