The Grover Beach Police Department unveils their new Police Command Vehicle.

The Grover Beach Police Department is pleased to announce that we will be putting into service a new Mobile Command Patrol Vehicle that was added to our patrol fleet. This new 2009 Chevrolet Tahoe, with an integrated Command Post Module, was purchased utilizing grant funds and the purchasing authority of the California Emergency Management Agency’s (CalEMA) 1122 Program. Through the purchasing authority of CalEMA, we were able to build this new vehicle for slightly more than a new patrol vehicle.

This new vehicle will be used by the patrol division as a Sergeant’s vehicle and it will allow us to provide our Community with an immediate Command Post at the scene of an emergency. Focusing on interoperability, the Department will now have the ability to effectively communicate with law enforcement and fire personnel while managing resources needed during the emergency. Previously, the Grover Beach Police Department did not have a vehicle with these capabilities.
