HYDRANT FLUSHING PROJECT UPDATE: Week of June 13, 2010

ROCKFORD – The following is an update of the current City of Rockford Unidirectional Flushing Program for the 2010 flushing season.

The Public Works Department releases the following information on the flushing operation from 06/06/2010 to 06/12/2010.

If discolored water occurs, it is not a health hazard. However, during any flushing procedures, iron (red water) and manganese (black water) may become stirred up within the water main, which can create staining on the porcelain and laundry. For this reason it is vital that the public
be aware of the time and area that will be affected.
