Man Found Guilty of Hotel Armed Robbery, Police Still Seeking Second Man
J'Menski Holt, 24, of Jackson, was on trial today in Madison County Circuit Court, Division II, for last year's armed robbery of La Quinta Inn & Suites at 2370 North Highland Avenue. The jury found him guilty of Aggravated Robbery and imposed a $25,000 fine, which was the maximum amount.
He will remain in custody at the Madison County Jail until sentencing on July 19 where he faces 8 to 12 years.
On June 2, 2009 Holt and a second unidentified man entered the business armed with handguns and demanded money. The unidentified man leaped over the counter, took cash money from the register and the desk clerk's cellular phone. Both men ran out the fire exit at the rear of the hotel lobby.
Police are still attempting to identify the second suspect who was a black male wearing a brown baseball cap, dark blue t-shirt, dark-colored pants and had some type of white cloth wrapped around his face.
