CAR VANDALS ARRESTED
Modesto, CA – A group of males vandalized at least seven cars early Wednesday morning in a northeast Modesto neighborhood. Police spotted the suspect vehicle Wednesday evening and made two arrests.
At about 4:35 AM a resident saw a group of males vandalizing several parked vehicles in the area of Bridgewood Way and Carson Oak Drive. He described the three suspects as white males in their late teens to early twenties. They were last seen leaving in an older model orange Datsun Z-type vehicle (280Z or similar).
Police discovered several vehicles that had been vandalized. The damage consisted of broken windows, mirrors and dents. The damage is believed to have been caused with large rocks and other physical force (kicking doors and fenders).
At about 8:00 PM Wednesday police spotted the Datsun 280Z parked in front of a home in the 2000 block of Bridgewood Way. Several people were detained at the home and two arrests were made. Jacob Barnes (18 years old) and a 17-year-old boy, both of Modesto, were arrested and booked for felony vandalism. The investigation suggested that this was an act of senseless vandalism which caused damage estimated in the thousands of dollars.
