**(Roxanne Walker, Hesperia Police)** has an important message for the community!

**On 5/18, a Hispanic female in her forties approached an elderly female in a local store and asked her if she would help her find an address of someone she knew in Hesperia. The female suspect further explained she had a gold brick to sell worth $12,000, for medical expenses for her uncle. She offered the gold bar to the victim for collateral for a loan of $800.00. The victim and the suspect along with a male subject who knew the female suspect, got into a four door black compact car and went to a bank. The victim took $800 dollars from her account and gave it to the suspects. They agreed to meet later so the suspect could return the $800.00. Of course, this never happened. Please be aware of these types of scams. Never trust a stranger or make a transaction with someone you do not know. Advise law enforcement immediately and give a description of the suspect and vehicle. Don't be a victim.
