Community Health and Resources Fair, Saturday, June 5, at the Fullerton Senior Multi-Service Center.

Providing citizens with an opportunity to invest in better health through awareness and preventive care will be the first goal of the community Health and Resources Fair, Saturday, June 5, at the Fullerton Senior Multi-Service Center.

The Health and Resource Fair Extravaganza will be held from 9 a.m. until noon, and will offer a variety of free health screenings, including blood pressure, body fat, chiropractic, dental, diabetes, glaucoma, hearing and stroke, as well as diabetes and health counseling.

In addition, a pharmacist will be on hard to conduct medication evaluations. Persons wishing to take advantage of the evaluations are asked to bring either their actual prescription bottles or a complete list of medications, including strengths and dosage information.

The blood chemistry panel test will not be offered during this fair.

Along with health services, the “Who, What and Where” of local resources and services available to mature adults and their families will be a second important focus of the community event for the morning. Included will be displays by local services and businesses, as well as resource agencies. The fair will also feature entertainment, refreshments and prizes.

Admission to the fair is free, and no pre-registration is needed.

The event is being cosponsored by the Fullerton Parks and Recreation Department, Adult Public Health Nursing Services and various medical groups and community organizations.
Sponsoring health insurance companies will also be present and have sales information available.

The Fullerton Senior Multi-Service Center is located at 340 W. Commonwealth Ave., two blocks west of Harbor Boulevard, in Amerige Park.
