ARREST MADE AFTER MOLESTATION INVESTIGATION

Modesto, CA – Detectives have made an arrest in connection with the molestation of two teenage girls. The victims are friends of the suspect’s teenage daughter.

On 8/22/09 at about 8:40 pm police were dispatched to a Modesto home to investigate lewd acts upon two teenage girls; ages 13 and 15. Detectives believe the girls were assaulted separately, in the month of August, at the suspect’s home in the 900 block of Wellesley Drive in Modesto. The investigation suggests that the suspect touched each of the girls in a sexual nature while at the home. Specific details of the individual assaults will not be disclosed or discussed at the request of the victims and their parents.

The investigation continued through the week and culminated with the arrest of Francisco “Frank” Jose Drumond, a 41-year-old Modesto resident. Drumond was arrested without incident early Friday morning at Modesto Junior College. Drumond is currently employed as an instructor at Modesto Junior College and recently resigned as a reserve police officer at the Ripon Police Department. He worked previously for the Patterson Police Department and the Modesto Police Department (1994-2000).

Drumond has been booked at the Stanislaus County Jail for lewd and lascivious acts with a minor under the age of 14 and lewd and lascivious acts with a 14 or 15 year old minor; both felonies. His bail has been set at $75,000. Modesto Police detectives have advised representatives of Modesto Junior College and the Ripon Police Department of the circumstances surrounding this criminal case.
