Beware of telephone scams that ask you for money in order to claim alleged winnings. 
Pleasant Hills P.D. has received a report where an elderly man was called from Jamaica and told that he had won $2.5 million and a new Mercedez Benz car. He was told to send $1,500.00 to claim his winnings. THIS IS A SCAM!! Legitimate contests do not ask you to send money. Please consult with family, friends and police if you receive this call and DO NOT SEND MONEY!!
