The Palos Heights Police Department wants to alert its residents and businesses of a telephone scam involving financial institutions, primarily using the name of Palos Bank and Trust.

Several residents, whom are customers from different financial institutions, have received automated telephone calls, stating their accounts have been breached, and asks the customer to verify their 16-digit account number or credit card number.

The Palos Heights Police Department is reminding everyone not give out vital, personal or financial information over the telephone. If you have any further questions or concerns regarding your financial account(s), please contact your financial institution(s).
