City Human Services Dept. Announces Annual Scholarship Awards 
The City of Rockford Human Services Department announces the award of $4000 in scholarships through the 2010 Education and Training Scholarship Program.
The award recipients include: Daniel Wright, Rockford Career College - $500; Vickeisha McAdory, Judson University - $1500; Carrie Stenerson, Boylan High School - $1500; and Fredex Hudson, Rockford Career College - $500.
The Education and Training Scholarship opportunity is offered every spring. Applicants must live in Winnebago or Boone County and have a high school diploma or a GED certificate and plan to attend a State of Illinois post secondary accredited school or training facility in the fall of 2010.
There is no age requirement. Applications are judged by academic attainment or potential, area of study, completeness of application and personal interview. The scholarship funds must be used for direct costs of tuition and textbooks.
The Education and Training Scholarship Program is made possible through funding by the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity through the Community Services Block Grant.
