A High Surf Advisory Remains In Effect From 8 AM Saturday To 6 AM EDT Sunday.
Long Period Swell Produced By Hurricane Bill Will Impact The Beaches Of Southern South Carolina And Southeast Georgia This Weekend.
This Swell Will Contribute To A High Risk Of Rip Currents On All Beaches Saturday. Conditions Will Be Favorable For Frequent, Strong And Life-Threatening Rip Currents.
A High Surf Advisory Is Also In Effect For All Area Beaches Saturday And Saturday Night. Surf Heights Will Most Likely Average 5 To 7 Feet, But Locally Higher Sets Will Be Possible.
High Surf May Also Produce At Least Minor Beach Erosion, Especially Around The Times Of The Morning And Evening High Tides.
No One Should Enter The Surf Due To The Potential For Life Threatening Rip Currents. Rip Currents Are Powerful Channels Of Water Flowing Quickly Away From Shore, Which Occur Most Often At Low Spots Or Breaks In The Sandbar And In The Vicinity Of Structures Such As Groins, Jetties And Piers. Heed The Advice Of Lifeguards And The Beach Patrol. Pay Attention To Flags And Posted Signs.
A High Surf Advisory Means That High Surf Will Affect Beaches In The Advisory Area, Producing Dangerous Rip Currents And Localized Beach Erosion.
