Single Vehicle Crash Investigated by Sheriff’s Office

Sheriff Keith Nygren announced today the investigation of a single vehicle traffic crash that occurred on May 4, 2010 at 10:01 P.M. at 2809 Country Club Road in unincorporated Woodstock.
The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office, Woodstock Fire and Rescue, and the Woodstock Police Department responded to the scene of the crash.
Based on preliminary investigation, Joshua W. Burkett, 27, of Woodstock was driving a gray 2009 Toyota Camry northbound on Country Club Road, north of McConnell Road when for unknown reasons the Toyota left the roadway on the west side.
The Toyota then struck multiple trees in the area of 2809 Country Club Road. Joshua W. Burkett was pronounced dead at the scene. Joshua was the only occupant of the vehicle at the time of the crash. It is unknown at this time in the investigation if Joshua was seatbelted during the crash.
The crash is under investigation by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Major Crash Investigation Team.
