500 cars broken into in WLA since 1/01/10. Many were laptops & purses. Leaving valuables in car increases car thefts! 
Since January 1, 2010, West Los Angeles Division has experienced almost 500 vehicle burglaries. Our analysis has revealed that the items most frequently taken by the thieves are Laptops, GPSs, IPODs, Cameras, Cell phones, and purses. In most instances, these items were left in plain view inside the vehicles. We recommend that you take the following steps to make your vehicle less attractive to thieves: Always lock your car, do not leave valuables in plain sight, and park in well lit areas.
