...FLOODING AND FLASH FLOODING LIKELY OVER NORTH AND CENTRAL GEORGIA
TODAY THROUGH TUESDAY...

.A SLOW MOVING STORM SYSTEM WILL CONTINUE MOVING ACROSS NORTH AND
CENTRAL GEORGIA THROUGH TUESDAY BRINGING VERY HEAVY RAIN TO THE
AREA. ALTHOUGH SOIL CONDITIONS OVER THE AREA ARE SOMEWHAT DRY...THE
RAIN WILL BE HEAVY ENOUGH TO ALLOW RAPID RUNOFF AND FLOODING OF
CREEKS AND STREAMS. SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS OVER NORTHWEST GEORGIA
EARLY THIS MORNING WILL CONTINUE TO PROGRESS SLOWLY EAST AND SOUTH
THROUGH TODAY...LINGERING INTO TUESDAY ACROSS AREAS SOUTH OF COLUMBUS
AND MACON.

OF NORTH AND PARTS OF CENTRAL GEORGIA...

THE FLASH FLOOD WATCH CONTINUES FOR

* PORTIONS OF CENTRAL GEORGIA AND NORTH...GENERALLY ALONG AND NORTH
OF A LINE FROM HAMILTON TO FORSYTH AND WASHINGTON.

* THROUGH LATE TONIGHT

* WIDESPREAD RAINFALL TOTALS OF 2 TO 3 INCHES ARE STILL EXPECTED...
WITH ISOLATED HIGHER AMOUNTS BETWEEN 4 AND 5 INCHES POSSIBLE. THESE
AMOUNTS WILL LIKELY CAUSE MINOR TO MODERATE FLOODING ON SOME CREEKS
AND RIVERS...WITH FLASH FLOODING ON SMALLER CREEKS IN THE
MOUNTAINOUS AND URBAN AREAS OF NORTH GEORGIA ALSO POSSIBLE. AREAS
OF NORTHWEST GEORGIA HAVE ALREADY RECEIVED 1 TO 2 INCHES OF RAIN
OVERNIGHT WITH RAIN STILL FALLING. THIS WILL CONTINUE TO SHIFT
SOUTH AND EAST ACROSS NORTH AND PARTS OF CENTRAL GEORGIA THROUGH
THIS EVENING.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A FLASH FLOOD WATCH MEANS THAT CONDITIONS MAY DEVELOP THAT LEAD TO
FLASH FLOODING. FLASH FLOODING IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.

YOU SHOULD MONITOR LATER FORECASTS AND BE PREPARED TO TAKE IMMEDIATE
ACTION SHOULD FLASH FLOOD WARNINGS BE ISSUED.
