**Home Burglaries** Valley West Crime Watch

During the overnight hours of August 15th and August 16th, a home in the 8400 block of Scenic View Drive was burglarized. The victim states she believed she may have heard a noise around midnight from the downstairs area of the home; however, everything appeared normal when it was checked. The next morning, the victim awoke to find her purse missing and parts of the home had been rummaged through and items moved. In addition, it appears that the actor(s) entered the victim's vehicle, however nothing was removed. In this case, it appears that entry into the home may have been through an unsecured basement door.


In addition to the above listed incident, another resident in the 8400 block of Scenic View Drive reported a burglary as well. In this case, the victim's garage door was left open (upright), allowing the suspect(s) access to the inside door, which was also unsecured. Although nothing was removed from within the home (however, items were rummaged through), the suspect(s) did rummage through two unsecured vehicles in the garage, and cash was taken from one of the vehicles.

Both of these incidents are under investigation. BLRPD reminds residents in all watch zones that is essential to secure homes at all times for safety reasons.
