2010 ARRA PROGRAM PROJECTS, Street Constructions to Begin During the Week of May 3rd

The following arterial streets will begin construction during the week of May 3, 2010.

Alpine Road (Morsay Drive to Guilford Road) located in the 10th ward.

Longwood Street (Benton Street to Y Boulevard) located in the 2ND and 3RD wards.

West Riverside Boulevard (North Main Street to the river) located in 12TH ward.

Construction activities shall include, but are not limited to, milling and paving, some full depth pavement patching, adjusting structures, new ADA ramps, some new curb and gutter and other related work.

West Riverside Boulevard will be under construction during the hours of 6:00 P.M. and 7:00 A.M. Traffic will be reduced to one lane.

Alpine and Longwood will be shifted daily and in some cases reduced to one lane as needed to perform certain
construction operations. The necessary traffic control and signage will be posted.

CITY-WIDE INLET REPAIRS– 2010


City Wide Inlet Repairs 2010 will begin construction the week of May 3, 2010.

Construction activities shall include, but are not limited to, repairing inlets at various locations throughout the City of Rockford, parkway restoration and other related work.

The necessary traffic control and signage will be posted.


DOWNTOWN STREETSCAPE 2009

Main Street Mall (Elm Street to Mulberry) located in the
3RD ward will be under construction the week of
May 3, 2010.

Construction activities shall include, but are not limited to, relaying and cutting of brick pavers, cleaning and sealing of brick pavers, cleaning off building fascia, landscaping and other related work.
Work will begin on the south block (State to Elm). The south block will be closed to through traffic for two (2) weeks, weather permitting. After the south block is complete and reopened, work will begin on the north block (Mulberry to State). The north block will be closed to through traffic for two (2) weeks, weather permitting. Only one block at a time will be closed to through traffic. Elm Street, State Street and Mulberry Street will remain open to traffic.
