DOWNTOWN STREETSCAPE 2009

ROCKFORD - Effective April 26, 2010

On Monday, April 26, 2010, Main Street, from Elm to Mulberry, will be under construction for the completion of punch list items related to last year’s Phase I
project.

It is anticipated that this project will be completed by May 26, 2010. Construction activities shall include, but are not limited to, relaying and cutting of brick pavers, cleaning and sealing of brick pavers, cleaning of building fascia, landscaping and other related work.
Work will begin on the south block of Main, from Elm to State. The south block will be closed to through traffic for two (2) weeks, weather permitting. After the south
block is complete and reopened, work will begin on the north block, from State to Mulberry. The north block will be closed to through traffic for two (2) weeks,
weather permitting. Only one block at a time will be closed to through traffic. Elm Street, State Street and Mulberry Street will remain open to traffic. There will be limited access disruptions to businesses during the work. Temporary ramps will be installed to provide access. Pedestrian traffic will be altered from one
side of the street to the other as temporary fencing will be installed to protect both pedestrians and the pavers. There will be a City of Rockford inspector on-site at all times during this final phase of work.
