I am pleased to announce that the Norwalk Sheriff's Staiton will be launching its third youth intervention class in September.

The PRIDE Program is a faith based program that is run by clergy members from the community. The program is a total of ten week long. The program is designed to educate kids between the ages of 12-16 of the choices they are making in life and the road those choices are going to lead them.

As parents and guardians of teens we face a great challenge to raises children who will become a positive influence in our society. A major challenge for us as parents is to combat these negative influences on our children.

Perhaps, your teen has made some bad choices already in school, friends, or activities, and might already be on probation for committing a criminal act.

Our hope in the PRIDE program is to help him or her to realize that they are the ones who set the course of their lives now. We will expose these teens to some harsh realities during this 10 week program. The first part will be with key speakers on life with drugs, the morgue, jail and skid row; these topics will be combined with outings to those sights.

The second part we will expose these teens to positive choices in life with key speakers on life combined with outings to those sights too.
