SUBJECT: Man Arrested for Possessing Heroin

ACCUSED: Dominic Matthew Pizzi, Age 23 of Brick, NJ
NARRATIVE: On 3/23/2010 at 11:05 am, Officer Michael
Melody was on patrol in the area of Highway 35
south. During his patrol, he observed a 2004 Chrysler also traveling south on 35 and following too close to a commercial truck. Officer Melody subsequently stopped the Chrysler and identified the driver as Dominic Matthew Pizzi.
Further investigation revealed that Pizzi was in possession of seven small bags of heroin and three empty bags that had contained heroin. He also had items of drug paraphernalia commonly used to prepare heroin for injection. Pizzi was also in possession of several prescription pills that were not in a proper container.
It was determined that Pizzi did not a have a valid prescription for the pills. Pizzi was taken into custody and transported to OTPD for further processing. Subsequent to his arrest he was also in possession of
a small knife. Pizzi was charged with Possession of Heroin, Possession of Prescription Legend Drug,
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon. He was later released on a criminal summons pending a court hearing.
