Palos Heights Police and IDOT remind to "Click It or Ticket"
The Palos Heights Police Department is releasing the following details related to a public safety campaign.
The 2009 national Click It or Ticket seat belt enforcement mobilization will run from May 18 - 31, 2009.
The purpose of the campaign is to increase the motoring public's seat belt use, which was 83% in 2008, a 25% increase over the past 14 years. Seatbelts are credited with saving more than 15,000 lives in 2007 alone.
The Palos Heights Police Department is dedicated to solving this problem and wants 100% of motorists to buckle up. Buckling up costs you nothing, but the costs of NOT buckling up may be a ticket, or worse - your life.
