TWO DEAD; ONE CRITICAL AFTER SHOOTING
Modesto, CA – Three people were shot in southwest Modesto early Monday morning. Two have died and a third is in critical condition.
Police were dispatched to the 1700 block of Radley Place at about 5:20 a.m. after receiving several reports of shots fired. When officers arrived they found two adult victims; one man and one woman. Both were pronounced dead a short time later. A third victim, a man in his 20’s, was found two blocks north of the home on Hammond Street. He remains hospitalized in critical condition.
Police took one man into custody nearby shortly after they arrived at the scene. They believe the man is vital to the investigation. The initial investigation has revealed that this was not a random shooting.
The investigation is on-going and detectives continue to speak with witnesses and canvas the area for evidence.
