Please remain cautious of door-to-door solicitors. Scammers may attempt to obtain personal information, gain access to your home, or defraud you of money.
The Borough of Watchung requires solicitors to obtain and display permits. While certain activities such as religious and political canvassing are exempt from permit requirements, restrictions still apply including a prohibition on soliciting before 9 a.m. and after 9 p.m. Please refer to Borough Ordinance 11-1 for more information.
Please note that our schools prohibit students from going door to door to solicit funds for school fundraisers. Help keep children safe by discouraging unsupervised solicitation.
To report suspicious activity, contact the Watchung Police Department at 908-756-3663. Call 911 for emergencies.
