Narrative:
On October 13, 2026, deputies from the Thousand Oaks Police Service responded to a report of criminal threats at a community center located in the 4800 block of Borchard Road. An adult male had made threats of great bodily injury and death to patrons at the community center. Prior to law enforcement arrival, a center employee successfully activated facility lockdown protocols, ensuring the safety of occupants.

Detectives from the East County Investigations Bureau assumed responsibility for the case. Through investigative follow-up and witness interviews, detectives identified the suspect as 48-year-old Reymundo Resendez of Thousand Oaks.

On October 20, 2026, detectives located Resendez operating a vehicle in Thousand Oaks. Deputies assigned to Thousand Oaks Police Services attempted a traffic stop related to the outstanding felony crime. Resendez failed to yield, initiating a brief vehicle pursuit that concluded when he pulled over in the 5000 block of Roadside Drive in Agoura Hills. Resendez was taken into custody without further incident.

Resendez was booked into the Pre-Trial Detention Facility in Ventura on charges of PC 422.3 (Criminal Threats to a Sensitive Public Location) and VC 2800.1 (Failure to Yield to Law Enforcement). He is being held in lieu of $250,000 bail and is scheduled for arraignment on October 22, 2026, at 1:30 PM in Ventura County Superior Court.
