Sheriff Clint Roach reports that on 09/06/2026 at approximately 2:22 Pm, deputies from the Cass County Sheriff’s Office responded to a two-vehicle crash at the interception of M-60 and Yankee Street, Howard Township, Cass County Michigan.
The investigation showed that a vehicle driven by Christine Grosse (66 years old from South Bend, IN) was headed southwest at the intersection of M-60 and Yankee Street. Another vehicle driven by Mark Peacock (76 years old from South Bend, IN) was eastbound at the intersection of Yankee Street and M-60. Witnesses stated that the Southbound vehicle ran the red light and crashed into the Eastbound vehicle.
Peacock’s passenger, Pamela Peacock (73 years old from South Bend, IN) and Christine Grosse were both transported by SMCAS Ambulance to Lakeland Niles Hospital for injuries sustained in the crash.
Assisting agencies on scene were MSP, Howard Fire, SMCAS, and RB Towing.
All parties wore Seatbelts at the time of the crash.
