The City of Tomball Rallies with Gulf Coast Region for 2010 Warrant Round-up

The City of Tomball’s Police Department will be among more than 300 law enforcement jurisdictions across Texas participating in the “2010 Great Texas Warrant Round-up”, which officially begins Saturday, March 6, 2010.

Tomball PD will join nearly seventy other regional participants in this statewide annual event targeting people who have outstanding warrants with respective Municipal Courts.

The City of Tomball Municipal Courts alone has thousands of active warrants it is seeking to clear. Municipal Court officials are encouraging defendants to take advantage of one of the options available to settle outstanding warrants. However, no amnesty is being offered in conjunction with the Round-up effort.

“We offered an Amnesty last spring which some defendants took advantage of and paid out their cases, Yet many others did not, and as a result, still have active cases that can cause them to be arrested,” said Warrant Officer Frank Mitchell.

Once the warrant period begins March 6th, Tomball PD officers will aggressively target those persons on the warrant list and arrests can take place at any location, including the defendant’s home, school, or workplace.

Warrant Officer Frank Mitchell emphasized, “We are notifying defendants that there are numerous options available to assist them in quickly and conveniently taking care of their outstanding warrants without being arrested before March 6th.”

Notices are being mailed to defendants with active warrants pending against them. Due to a high number of outstanding warrants, some may not receive notice, but may contact the Court for information.

For more information of warrants or citations contact the City’s Municipal Court at (281) 351-7894 or
(281) 290-1013; 1014; 1015 between the hours of 7:45am – 5pm Monday-Thursday; and between 7:45am – 4:00pm Friday.
