Detective Grant Robinson with the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged 19-year-old Joseph William Flack of Marion with felony Breaking and Entering a Motor Vehicle, felony Larceny and felony Possession of Stolen Goods/Property. He was issued a secured bond of $50,000.
On August 15, Deputy Gage Honeycutt responded to a report about a verbal disturbance in the Glenwood area.
The victim reported to Honeycutt that Flack had allegedly broken into her car the night prior to the report, at her nearby residence. A purse, iPad Pro, medication bag, wallet and Apple AirPods were reportedly stolen from the vehicle.
After using a location-tracking feature to “Ping” her AirPods, the victim was led to Flack’s residence.
After a verbal altercation between Flack and the victim, MCSO deputies arrived on scene, where all missing items were recovered, including the credit cards which were found on Flack.
Detectives also located evidence on William’s phone that supported the allegations of theft.
Flack was taken into custody and transported to the McDowell County Detention Center for Processing.
