Flooding Emergency Has Been Terminated
Level I (Travel Advisory) Issued
On August 13, 2026 at 6:00 P.M. the Wayne County Commissioners declared a Level II Essential Travel Permitted Flooding Emergency to be in effect in Wayne County, the City of Richmond and the Town of Centerville. This flooding emergency declaration has been terminated, as of 3:00 P.M. on August 14, 2026.
The chief executive of Wayne County, Indiana does now find that the weather conditions and subsequent effects on travel in and through Wayne County have improved to such degree that hazard posed by the operation and parking of motor vehicles on county roadways has been reduced to allow persons to travel on county roadways with caution.
The Level II Essential Travel Permitted Flooding Emergency is terminated and restrictions on the operation and parking of motor vehicles on Wayne County roadways are no longer in effect.
A Level 1 Travel Advisory will be in effect now until August 17, 2026 at 12:00 P.M.

Instructions:
If you must drive during this advisory, remain alert and use caution as you may encounter standing water on roads and rapidly changing road conditions. Allow extra time to get to your destination, reduce your speed and increase the following distance from the vehicle ahead. Avoid sudden changes in speed and apply brakes and accelerator slowly and gently.
