Wayne County Issues Travel Advisory (Level 1)
for Flood Streets and Roadways
A TRAVEL ADVISORY (LEVEL I) HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR WAYNE COUNTY ROADWAYS AND THE STREETS OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND AND THE TOWN OF CENTERVILLE DUE TO THE HEAVY RAINFAUL CAUSING THE PONDING/ STANDING OF WATER AND FLOODED ROADWAYS, MAKING TRAVEL HAZARDOUS.
This TRAVEL ADVISORY takes effect at 7:00 AM on Wednesday, August 12, 2026. This Advisory applies to all roads maintained by Wayne County Highway Department and the Street Departments of City of Richmond and the Town of Centerville. This Advisory will remain in effect until Wednesday, August 12, 2026 at 5:00PM.
This LEVEL 1 TRAVEL ADVISORY has been issued to warn those who must travel on Wayne County roadways and City Streets to use extreme caution due to standing water on roadways and the flooding of roadways.
A LEVEL I TRAVEL ADVISORY DOES NOT IMPOSE ANY RESTRICTIONS FOR TRAVEL ON COUNTY ROADWAYS. MOTORISTS MAY TRAVEL AT THEIR OWN RISK.

Instructions:
If you must drive during this advisory, remain alert and use caution as you may encounter standing water on roads and rapidly changing road conditions. Allow extra time to get to your destination, reduce your speed and increase the following distance from the vehicle ahead. Avoid sudden changes in speed and apply brakes and accelerator slowly and gently. Turn Around- Don't Drown.
