INCIDENT: Single-Vehicle Fatal Traffic Crash
LOCATION: Outer Highway 18 N and Standing Rock Road, Apple Valley, CA
DRIVER 1: 34-year old female resident of Washington
VEHICLE 1: Purple 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser
SUMMARY:
On Saturday, July 4, 2026, at approximately 10:28 PM, deputies from the Apple Valley Sheriff’s Station and rescue personnel from the Apple Valley Fire Department along with American Medical Response responded to a single-vehicle traffic collision in the Town of Apple Valley.
Through investigation, deputies determined a purple 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser drove westbound on Highway 18, east of Dale Evans Parkway. The driver of the Chrysler lost control of the vehicle, and the vehicle left the roadway. The vehicle crossed over Outer Highway 18 N and collided into a block wall, which caused the vehicle to rollover. The driver sustained major injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Investigators from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Major Accident Investigative Team (M.A.I.T) arrived and are conducting an investigation. Deputies processed the scene for evidence and interviewed witnesses. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
