#LASD Marina del Rey Deputies Recover Stolen Nonprofit Organization Vessel and Arrest Suspect
On March 17, 2026, at approximately 9:15 a.m., deputies from Marina del Rey Station responded to 13600 Block of Mindanao Way, Marina del Rey, for a call of a stolen vessel. The vessel was a 30-foot, 1979 Islander sailboat. They were unable to locate the vessel or the suspect.
On Monday, June 22, 2026, deputies, along with the help of a community member, recovered the stolen sailboat in the Marina Harbor. Investigators were able to also locate and arrest a male White, 41 years old, on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, for being in possession of the stolen property (vessel) and possession of narcotics for sales. Additional property believed to be stolen was also recovered. The investigation is still ongoing.
The training vessel belongs to a popular nonprofit organization and is a vital asset for the local youth sailing programs. Its recovery restores an essential resource that supports a program with a meaningful and lasting impact on the Marina del Rey community.
