SUSPECT: Alberto Jesus Zugarazo-Rodriguez, 36-year-old male, Victorville

SUMMARY:
On May 21, 2026, detectives with the Apple Valley Police Station began an investigation into four reported sexual assault cases that occurred throughout the High Desert area between 2017 and 2025. Through evidence collected during the investigation, detectives identified Alberto Zugarazo-Rodriguez as the suspect.
On May 27, 2026, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Zugarazo-Rodriguez. Shortly thereafter, the detectives located the vehicle where Zugarazo-Rodriguez was staying in the city of Hesperia. Zugarazo-Rodriguez was detained and booked at High Desert Detention Center on charges including five counts of rape by force, one count of false imprisonment and one count of kidnapping to commit rape. Zugarazo-Rodriguez’s bail is set at $1,000,000.
Investigators believe there may be additional victims and are releasing Zugarazo-Rodriguez’s booking photograph.
