While checking the area for the suspect, Cotati police received a call of a similar subject vandalizing a gas pump at Cotati Speedway gas station. The subject fled that location as well and was then reported to be vandalizing a house in Cotati.
At approximately 1419 hours, Officers located the vehicle in the area of East Cotati and La Salle. Officers initiated a traffic stop of the vehicle and the subject pulled over in the area of East Cotati and East School St. The subject refused to comply with officer’s order and exit his vehicle. A perimeter was established and attempts were made to convince the subject to comply. After making no progress with that tactic, the subject was physically removed from the vehicle and taken into custody. Rohnert Park DPS would like to thank the Sonoma County Sheriff’s office, California Highway Patrol, Cotati PD and SSU PD for their assistance with this call. We would also like to thank the Sheriff’s helicopter, Henry One, for providing aerial support during the incident.
The subject was identified as Nicholas Orourke, 44 years old, from Santa Rosa.
