National Drug Takeback Day Prescription Drop off event today 10am-2pm @ Walmart, 1050 W. Edgar Rd

The Linden Police Narcotics Bureau, in cooperation with Walmart, are hosting a prescription drop off event on National Drug Takeback Day.

Drop off your unwanted or expired prescription medications at Walmart, located at 1050 W. Edgar Rd, today between 10am - 2pm. UNFORTUNATELY, LIQUIDS AND SYRINGES CANNOT BE ACCEPTED.

Safely disposing of unnecessary medications in the home is a safe and effective way to prevent prescription drug misuse and reduce the potential for accidental poisonings. Prescription drug abuse affects all age groups, including seniors and teens, and may lead ongoing and compulsive behaviors. According to the National Center for Drug Abuse, 53% of prescription drug abusers become addicted, and highly addictive opioids such as oxycodone and codeine are among the most misused prescription pain medications.

Cant make it? No problem! Medications can also be dropped off at any time using the dropbox in Police Headquarters, located at 301 N. Wood Ave. LIQUIDS AND SYRINGES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
