For Immediate Release:
On Saturday, March 28, 2026, at approximately 2:55 a.m., Amarillo Police officers were dispatched to a residence in the 800 block of S. Maryland Street on a reported shooting.
Upon arrival, officers located multiple spent cartridge casings in the street and yard of two residences. Officers also located Moneke Denice Glass (40) inside the home suffering from gunshot wounds. Life-saving measures were initiated until Amarillo Medical Services arrived. Ms. Glass was transported to a local hospital, where she later died from her injuries.
Homicide detectives and Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) responded to the scene. Investigators are asking anyone in the area of the 800 block of S. Maryland Street between 2:00 a.m. and 4:00 a.m. to check for and submit any available video from outdoor or doorbell cameras using the QR attached to this release.
