Meridian Community Invited to Participate in National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day on April 25
MERIDIAN, ID – The Meridian Police Department, in partnership with the Meridian Anti-Drug Coalition (MADC) and Republic Services, is encouraging residents to take part in National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day on Saturday, April 25th, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
This spring’s collection event will be held at the Blue Cross of Idaho Headquarters, located at 3000 E. Pine Ave. in Meridian.
National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day is coordinated by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and provides communities across the country with a safe, anonymous way to dispose of unused or expired medications.
A Simple Step That Makes a Big Impact
Unused prescription medications left in homes can be vulnerable to misuse, theft, or accidental ingestion. Proper disposal helps reduce the risk of substance misuse and keeps medications from entering the water supply through improper disposal methods such as flushing or throwing them in the trash.
Meridian residents have consistently shown strong support for Take-Back initiatives, helping remove hundreds of pounds of medication from circulation each year.
