Weather Alert: Winter Storm Warning in effect for our area. 4"+ of snow possible Sun-Mon
Weather Advisory: Another winter storm warning is in effect for our area.
There is still some uncertainty regarding the timing and predicted accumulation totals, but the latest forecast calls for 4”+ of snow accumulation beginning Sunday during the day through the evening and overnight hours.
Linden Public Works, in coordination with the Police Department and other City agencies, are making plans to clear the streets, which will include the towing of vehicles from emergency snow routes.
DPW will have plows out during and immediately after the storm, but as the last storm demonstrated, vehicles that remain in the roadway significantly hinder their ability to clear roadways. We understand that finding parking is difficult, particularly during times snow events like this, but we kindly ask that residents do everything possible to move vehicles off the roadway. ALL VEHICLES MUST BE REMOVED FROM DESIGNATED EMERGENCY SNOW ROUTES, AND VEHICLES IN VIOLATION ARE SUBJECT TO FINES AND IMPOUNDMENT.
Significant accumulation on top of the remaining snowpack could make plowing operations particularly challenging. Your cooperation is vital to our ability to effectively respond. Here are some things you can do to help us avoid some of the painful consequences we experienced in the past:

- Stay home – if you don’t have to travel, please don’t
- Remove vehicles from roadways, especially posted Emergency Snow Routes - double up in your driveways, ask a neighbor to share a driveway or even park on your grass
- Do not park in illegal spaces too close to intersections – this prevents drivers from moving snow away from corners
- Do not throw snow into the street – throw snow behind the curbline whenever possible
- Remove snow from walkways within 6 hours after snow stops
- Do not put personal items or garbage cans in the street to try and save parking spaces
