At approximately 3:00 a.m., the Vesta System, a third-party public safety call-handling platform, began coming back online. At approximately 7:20 a.m., 9-1-1 service was fully restored at all Sheriff’s Department patrol stations.
The Vesta System is not owned or maintained by the Sheriff’s Department. Department personnel continue to work with the third-party telecommunications provider to determine the root cause of the outage and identify corrective measures to help prevent this issue from occurring again.

At approximately 6:02 p.m. this evening, the Department was notified of an outage affecting the Vesta System, a third-party public safety call-handling platform. The disruption is impacting 9-1-1 calls within the Sheriff’s Department’s jurisdiction; however, the full extent of the impact is not yet known.
In response to the outage, 9-1-1 calls are being automatically redirected to patrol station business phone lines to help ensure continued emergency response coverage.
The Sheriff’s Department has deployed Department electricians to assess and address the issue and are working closely with the third-party telecommunications provider to restore full service as quickly as possible.
We appreciate the community’s understanding and want to reassure our residents that we are taking all necessary steps to maintain emergency response services while this issue is being resolved. Department personnel are proactively planning for contingencies to ensure continuity of service and to limit any potential disruption to emergency response operations.
