Planned Emergency Alert Test in Petaluma – February 9
Today, Monday, February 9, 2026, between 1:00 and 2:00 p.m., people in the City of Petaluma may receive a test emergency alert on their mobile phones.
This alert is part of a planned Alert and Warning exercise conducted by Sonoma County Department of Emergency Management and the City of Petaluma. The purpose of the test is to ensure our alert systems work properly before a real emergency, such as a wildfire, flood, or other hazardous situation.
This is only a test. No action is required.
After the exercise, community members are encouraged to share feedback about the alert at SoCoTest.org. Community feedback helps improve our emergency notification systems and keeps everyone safer during real emergencies.
