*UPD* #LASD Homicide Investigators Responded to a Deputy-Involved Shooting Inv., 6600 blk Fallbrook Ave #WestHills
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide investigators are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding a deputy involved shooting incident in the city of West Hills.
On January 22, 2026, at approximately 8:30 p.m., detectives from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Major Crimes Bureau, observed a male committing an armed robbery in front of a commercial business located at the 6600 block of Fallbrook Avenue, in the city of West Hills. When detectives attempted to intervene to prevent the robbery from occurring by detaining the male, and to protect the female victim from harm, a deputy involved shooting occurred.
The male suspect was struck by the detectives’ gunfire and fell to the ground. Detectives rendered medical aid to the male until the arrival of the Los Angeles City Fire Department. The male was pronounced dead on scene at 8:48 P.M.
A female accomplice fled the scene in a vehicle southbound on Fallbrook Avenue. She was located in the city of Agoura Hills and detained without incident.
The male’s loaded semi-automatic handgun was recovered at the scene.
Investigators learned Major Crimes Bureau Detectives were assisting Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station Detectives with an investigation into two recent armed robberies and an assault with a deadly weapon that occurred in the Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station policing area. While detectives were at the location, conducting their investigation, they observed the male suspect, armed with a semi-automatic handgun, approach the female victim and attempt rob her.
Investigators learned on January 13, 2026, at approximately 9:10 p.m., an armed robbery occurred at the 4700 block of Commons Way, in the city of Calabasas. The female victim’s purse was taken during the robbery.
On January 21, 2026, at approximately 7:30 p.m., an armed robbery occurred at the 4700 block of Commons Way, in the city of Calabasas. The female victim’s purse was taken during the robbery.
On January 21, 2026, at approximately 9:03 p.m., an assault with a deadly weapon occurred at the 30000 block of Thousand Oaks Boulevard, in the city of Westlake Village. A male suspect pointed a handgun at a female victim and threatened to shoot her.
The investigation remains ongoing. Investigators are attempting to determine if the male suspect who was involved in the deputy involved shooting is responsible for the prior robberies and assault.

Once concluded, a preliminary review is conducted by the Critical Incident Review Panel to determine whether any immediate actions are warranted. Every aspect of the shooting is reviewed by the Sheriff's Executive Force Review Committee. Input from Constitutional Policing Advisors is provided during the process.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, Justice System Integrity Division, conducts a legal analysis to determine whether any criminal charges will be filed and if the shooting was legally justified.

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide investigators are responding to a deputy-involved shooting. The incident occurred Thursday, January 22, 2026 at approximately 8:40 p.m., on the 6600 block of Fallbrook Avenue, in the city of West Hills.
The male adult suspect was struck by gunfire and no deputies were injured.
Deputies immediately rendered aid to the suspect. The suspect was subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene by Los Angeles City Fire Department.
