INCIDENT: Murder/Suicide Investigation
LOCATION: 10700 Block of Bonanza Road, Adelanto, CA
SUSPECT(S): Tyreek Moore, 23-year-old Resident of Adelanto, CA
VICTIM(S): Shyla Powell, 22-year-old Resident of Lancaster, CA
SUMMARY:
On Saturday, December 20, 2025, at about 9:40 p.m., deputies from the Victor Valley Station were dispatched to a medical aid call at a residence on Bonanza Road, in Adelanto. When deputies arrived, they found Tyreek Moore and Shyla Powell inside the residence, each suffering from a gunshot wound. Medical aid also responded and pronounced the two deceased.
The Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division – Homicide Detail also responded and assumed the investigation. Detectives learned Moore and Powell were involved in a verbal altercation and later in the day both subjects were found deceased in the home. Investigators located a firearm near the male and through investigation, the incident was determined to be a murder/suicide. Both decedents were transported to the Coroner’s Office.
