***UPDATE***: On November 22, 2025, Officer Philbrook was able to conclude this investigation with an arrest of Russell Myers, a 32-year old Simi Valley resident, for felony vandalism. It was discovered that Myers was contacted and arrested on the same night of the vandalisms by another SVPD officer for possession of a concealed dirk or dagger. Unbeknownst to the arresting officer, Myers had most likely been involved with the, as of yet, unreported vandalisms. The next night, the officer became aware of the vandalism reports and surveillance video. He was able to identify Myers as the suspect and notified Officer Philbrook.***
Simi Valley Police Department responded to the 4100 block of Cochran St. for several reports of vandalism to vehicles in the area. It was determined through video collected at the scene that an unknown male suspect wearing a beanie and dark jacket was walking westbound on Cochran St. from Tapo St. at approximately 9pm the previous evening (Nov. 20th).
The suspect slashed the tires of several vehicles parked in the street and in driveways in the area as he walked by. At current count, we have eleven victims reporting vehicles with at least one tire destroyed.
