An arrest has been made in connection with an alleged battery which initiated a Purdue Alert on Sun Feb 14

Purdue University police arrested a man early Monday (Feb. 15) in connection with an alleged battery that occurred the previous evening in Hicks Undergraduate Library.
Abdul T. Brinson, 35, address unknown, faces preliminary charges of misdemeanor battery for allegedly hitting a student once in the face around 9 p.m. Sunday (Feb. 14). According to a police report, Brinson said he believed he had been intentionally bumped by the victim. The student victim was then allegedly approached by Brinson, who struck him, and then left the library.
Witnesses provided Purdue Police with a description of the suspect, and he was later located in Lafayette.
After his incarceration, Brinson was issued a Persona Non Grata Notification, which informed him that his presence within the Hicks Undergraduate Library is no longer acceptable. This notification also informed Brinson that should he return to the Library he may be subject to arrest for trespass.
Brinson faces a preliminary charge Battery, a class A misdemeanor, punishable to up to 3 years in jail and a 5,000 dollar fine.
