Burglary: HPD Officers responded to 87 North Avenue on a report of a burglary to the home. The resident found a broken screen window on the first floor and various items inside the home out of place. It is estimated the burglary took place between 9:30 AM and 6:44 PM. The house is still being inventoried to determine what, if anything, was stolen. The incident has been assigned to the Hillside Police Detective Bureau for investigation.


Pursuit/Arrest: Brandon A. Glenn, 22, of Irvington was arrested for attempting to elude police and possession of a stolen vehicle. Officers patrolling the area of Quabeck Avenue and Sager Place observed Glenn driving a beige 1999 Toyota Corolla, stolen out of Elizabeth, at a high rate of speed and attempted to stop him. Glenn ignored the officers’ signal to stop and caused police to pursue him through streets in Hillside and into Irvington. Suddenly, at the intersection of Chancellor Avenue and Kuna Terrace Glenn pulled over and was immediately arrested and transported to Hillside police headquarters. Glenn is charged with Eluding, Receiving Stolen Property (Toyota), and numerous motor vehicle offenses. He’s being held at Hillside police headquarters on $40,333 bail pending transport to the Union County Jail.
