#LASD Major Crimes Bureau Seize Street Takeover Vehicles Used During World Series Celebrations

On Saturday, November 1, 2025, several thousand Dodgers fans took to the streets of East Los Angeles to celebrate the Dodgers franchise winning back-to-back world series titles.  Unfortunately, some fans let the moment get the best of them.  Chaos ensued when several drivers were observed by deputies driving their vehicles in a reckless manner.  Several vehicles were utilized to conduct street takeovers and perform burnouts and donuts in the middle of multiple intersections, putting other motorists and celebrating pedestrians in danger.

LASD Major Crimes Bureau, Metro Detail detectives authored and obtained several court orders authorizing them to seize the vehicles utilized unlawfully for up to 30 days.  On November 6, 2025, Metro Detail detectives and East Los Angeles Station, Special Assignment Team deputies located and impounded five of the vehicles at various residences in Los Angeles, East Los Angeles, and Norwalk.

Although the investigation is ongoing, detectives are working diligently to identify the drivers of the seized vehicles and will be seeking criminal charges against each of the drivers involved.  Detectives have identified additional vehicles that were observed driving recklessly during World Series celebrations and will be seeking to seize those vehicles pursuant to a court order as well.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department would like to remind the public that no matter the circumstances or occasion, street takeovers and driving recklessly not only endanger those involved, but it also uninvolved members of the community.  Reckless driving, including speeding, racing, burnouts, donuts, and street takeovers are criminal offenses and will be aggressively investigated.
