Fremont Animal Services is investigating a fatal dog attack that occurred in Central Park near Lake Elizabeth on October 23, 2025 at approximately 2:40 p.m.
Animal Services was contacted and documented in a report that a medium-sized off-leashed dog (accompanied by its owner) attacked a small dog that was walking on leash with its owner. The small dog was taken to a veterinarian and later succumbed to its injuries.
Animal Services is working with the owner of the dog that passed away, but has not been able to identify the second involved dog or its owner.
The dog that attacked is described as a Cane Corso or a Pit Bull (exact breed unknown), and a photo of the dog and the individuals associated with the dog at the time of the incident is included in this press release.
