MERIDIAN POLICE ARREST MERIDIAN WOMAN FOR AGGRAVATED ASSAULT
 
Meridian – At approximately 1:40 a.m., Meridian Police responded to the sound of shots fired in the 700 block of N. Main Street. Officers who were working a foot patrol in the area heard multiple gunshots and responded quickly to the parking lot between Off the Clock Bar and Frontier Club, where they were able to quickly locate the shooter, Chantel MCPHERSON, of Meridian, who was attempting to leave the area. Officers quickly detained MCPHERSON, who was identified as the shooter by witnesses.

MCPHERSON had fired multiple rounds from a 9mm pistol, striking a pick-up multiple times. The pick-up was occupied by 2 victims, who had been involved in a fight with MCPHERSON and an acquaintance prior to the shooting. No injuries were reported, but at least 2 vehicles were struck by bullets including the victims pick-up.

MCPHERSON was booked into the Ada County Jail for 2 counts of Aggravated Assault (felony).
