| In the early morning hours of October 25, 2025, patrol deputies from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office – Camarillo Patrol Station swiftly apprehended two suspects responsible for an armed robbery at a local CVS pharmacy. At approximately 5:12 a.m., deputies were dispatched to the CVS located at 351 Carmen Drive after a store employee reported that two male suspects had demanded cash from the register and threatened to harm her if she did not comply. One suspect implied he was armed, though no weapon was seen. The suspects fled the store on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash, heading toward Daily Drive. Deputies quickly arrived on scene, confirmed a robbery had occurred, and obtained detailed descriptions of the suspects. Within minutes, responding units located two individuals matching those descriptions near a local motel. Both suspects were detained without incident. The suspects were identified as (S1) Zaire Mclean and (S2) Jonathan Rios. Both were arrested for Robbery (PC 211) and Conspiracy (PC 182(a)(1)) and booked into the Pre-Trial Detention Facility. The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office commends the quick-thinking actions of the responding deputies whose coordination and decisive response brought this incident to a safe and successful resolution. The City of Camarillo is a safe community; however, this sense of safety is occasionally exploited by the criminal element.
